Jared focuses on early to late stage venture investments across a wide range of sectors at Norwest with an emphasis on consumer Internet. He currently serves on the boards of Boost Insurance and Button, and is a board observer at Honeybook, Glint, Modsy, and Talkspace. Jared also serves as a mentor with the Disney Techstars accelerator program and is a member of Class 22 of the Kauffman Fellows.
Before joining the Norwest team, Jared was VP of business development at VideoSurf, Inc. (acquired by Microsoft). Recruited by the CEO as the first non-engineer hire, Jared led all business development efforts, created monetization products, and managed the marketing and distribution of the VideoSurf mobile app. Before that he also worked at Google, where he helped content and data companies reach Google’s hundreds of millions of users, using Google’s various product suites; and Discovery Communications, where he identified new media acquisition and partnership opportunities that were consistent with Discovery’s core content proposition.
Jared holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor of arts degree in history with a minor in international relations and public policy from Dartmouth College.
